Savannah Cat Checklist – Preparations for bringing a Savannah cat into your home are crucial. One key component is socialization. Savannah cats are extremely active animals and, like all cats, require a lot of attention. Especially Savannah kittens need plenty of engagement and interaction.

Handling with people and children should not be neglected for Savannah kittens. If kittens spend too much time alone, behavioral issues can develop. This often manifests as shyness toward humans and fear of everyday sounds. Well-socialized kittens and cats are generally affectionate, people-oriented, and do not display excessive fear.

Our Savannah cats are raised with loving care, and we devote all the time in the world to them. We expect that future owners will also be able to provide this dedication and time.

Savannah's hunting instinct

Cats, especially Savannah cats, should grow up in an environment suited to their natural needs. This means that each kitten should have sufficient space, and secured outdoor access is desirable.

Savannahs have demanding dietary requirements. Therefore, we recommend practicing a biologically appropriate feeding regimen. Both wet and dry food should be part of their diet. Whether you choose to feed a raw diet (BARF) or occasionally provide raw meat depends on your preferences.

Our Savannah cats are very dear to us. That’s why it is extremely important for us to get to know the future families of our kittens, ensuring they have made the necessary preparations for a Savannah cat. We want to know where our beloved animals will go and how they will live there.

Socialization Phase

The 4th to 8th weeks of life are considered the socialization phase, during which the kittens need their mother until the 6th week and their siblings until the 8th week. From the 8th week onwards, the imprinting phase begins, lasting until the 16th week. During this time (weeks 4–8), the kittens learn to interact with each other, develop shared eating habits, become litter-trained, get accustomed to everyday sounds such as the vacuum cleaner, and often play with children. You will be amazed at the wonderful bond you can build with your Savannah cat, free of fear and full of trust. This trust is best established when you engage thoroughly with the preparations for welcoming a Savannah cat.
